SUGGESTED TREKKING PROGRAM
Day 1 Arrival to Addis Ababa Arrival at Bole international Airport (Addis Ababa) where you will be meet by Feres Meda Travel and Tours representative and transferred to Intercontinental Hotel. Day 2 Addis – Gondar In the morning fly to Gonder over the rolling country side and scenic landscapes. After check in to the hotel visit 17^th C castles of the Gondrian Kings which is also known as African Camelot and it is the site of ancient Castle building palaces of different emperors constructed in the European middle age architectural style, and also visit Emperor Fasil’s swimming pool, which is still in use for the Temket ( the Ethiopian Epiphany) festival held every January 19. And also visit Debere Brehan Silassie church which is rich in icon paintings that depict the old and the new testament of the bible. Overnight in Quara Hotel Day 3 Gondar – Sanka Ber Drive to Sankaber, where you start your trekking in the next day. Overnight Camping. Day 4 Sankaber – Geech In the morning start trekking to Geech. The fascinating scenery of Semien Mountain’s view and the troop of Gelada baboon (endemic to Ethiopia) and plan species are worth to be visited. Overnight Camping. Day 5 Geech – Chenek This day continue trekking through the Simien mountain scenery and appreciate the different afro alpine plant species overnight camping at chenek Day 6 Chenek – Ambiko This day’s trekking would cover the distance through the breathtaking landscape from chenek to Ambiko. Birds like Lammergeyer, fan tailed raven, thick billed raven, vulturine guinefaul and animal species like Klipspringer, red fox are worth to be visited. Overnight Ambiko in camping. Day 7 Ambilico – Rassdashen – Ambiko From Ambico trek to Rasdashen, the highest peak to Ethiopia with height of 4620 meters above sea level. Return for your overnight in camping at Ambico. Day 8 Ambiko – Chenek Trek back from Ambiko to Chenek. Day 9 Chenek – Gondar Drive to Gondar overnight Gonder Quara Hotel Day 10 Addis – Departure Fly back to Addis (City tour can be arranged). Evening traditional fare well party and departure Home.
