Rwanda & Uganda Gorilla Safari ~ 6 Days

Day 1: ARRIVAL

You will be met on arrival at airport and transfer to Kigali and get briefed about your safari. After lunch, depart for Parc National des Volcanoes at 2pm. The journey north goes through the beautiful terraced hillsides that show much of Rwanda’s landscape, gradually climbing to the base of the awesome Virunga volcanoes, sometimes with as many as five peaks visible. Overnight at Volcanoes Bamboo Lodge (FB).

Day 2: GORILLA TRACKING

Following an early morning breakfast, you will go for gorilla tracking in Parc National des Volcans. Tracking the gorillas through the mountain forest on the slopes of the Volcanoes is both a wonderful and memorable experience. Spend an hour with them, and be back at the lodge in time for lunch. Some gorilla families however are more elusive and tracking can take a full day, especially when it is wet and muddy. Overnight at Volcanoes Bamboo Lodge (FB).

Day 3: COMMUNITY TOUR

Visit the golden monkeys or drive to Gisenyi, visit Ross Carr’s orphanage and Lake Kivu. Second option is climb the Bisoke or Muhavura volcanoes, OR the third option being visiting the Dian Fossey’s tombs plus the local school and community projects or last option; walk or ride bikes to Lake Burera and Ruhondo. Overnight at Volcanoes Bamboo Lodge (FB).

Day 4: TRANSFER TO UGANDA

In the morning after breakfast, transfer to Mgahinga national park, check in at Mgahinga Lodge. Overnight and dinner at Volcanoes Mount Mgahinga Lodge (FB).

Day 5: GORILLA TRACKING

Early breakfast and then go for gorilla tracking in Mgahinga, or climb a volcano, or go for a nature walk, or visit the golden monkeys in Mgahinga. Overnight and dinner at Volcanoes Mount Mgahinga Lodge (FB).

Day 6: TRAVEL TO KIGALI

Leave for Kigali in Rwanda and if time permits, go for a tour of the city including a visit to the market, pottery project, handicraft shops and the genocide memorial site. Transfer to the airport (HB).

End of Tour

Include:

Accommodation full board, *fuel, transportation with English speaking guide, Park Entrances, mineral water, Launch cruise fees …all activities described in the itinerary.

Exclude:

Travel Cover, tips, alcoholic beverages, and items of a personal nature, any items not mentioned.
