Day 1: NAIROBIYou begin your magical holiday today as you board your flight to Kenya – the heart of African Safari! On arrival into Jomo Kenyatta International Airport you are met by our representative and transferred to Jacaranda Hotel or similar. Day free for orientation and safari briefing. Overnight stay at the Jacaranda Hotel. Bed & breakfast http://www.jacarandahotels.com Day 2: AMBOSELIAfter breakfast depart for Amboseli. Leave Nairobi in the morning and drive across the Athi Plains where the Masai once roamed fearlessly mingling with the game animals, Zebra, Giraffe, Antelope and Lion, grazing their livestock. Clumps of acacia grow along the Athi River and Giraffe may sometimes be seen in the distance feeding on the upper branches. The road is now the busy Nairobi-Mombasa highway. Amboseli National Park is arrived at in time for lunch. An afternoon game drive will introduce you to the beauty of this park, which lies in the shadow of Africa’s highest mountain, Kilimanjaro (19,340 ft).Return to your lodge at sunset to watch a spectacular African sunset. Overnight at Kibo Safari Camp. Full Board http://www.kibosafaricamp.com Day 3: NAKURUDepart to Lake Nakuru National Park after breakfast which was the first in Africa to be designated a National Park Primarily because of its numerous bird population. Have early lunch in Nairobi then proceed to Lake Nakuru. The park is a very shallow, strongly alkaline lake of 62 square kilometers 38 miles. It is set in the picturesque landscape of the Great Rift Valley with surrounding woodland and grassland next to Nakuru town. This is a saline lake hosting the pink flamingos, black and white Rhino, Pelicans, Buffalos and Lions among others. Afternoon game viewing drive at the lake shore. Overnight at Flamingo Hills Tented Camp. Full Board http://www.flamingohillcamp.com Day 4: MASAI MARAAfter breakfast embark on the morning drive to the spectacular countryside. Arrive at Sentrim Mara in time for lunch. The Masai are the surrounding community. They have remained proudly aloof from western civilization. Afternoon game -viewing drive. Overnight at Sentrim Mara or similar. Full Board http://www.sentrim-hotels.com Day 5: MASAI MARAYou have one full day at the Masai Mara Game Reserve. Masai Mara is famous for its Great migration of more than two million wildebeest and thousands of Thomson ’s gazelle, Zebra and Impala. Aside from the migration, Game-viewing is excellent throughout the year. For the bird enthusiast 500 species have been recorded. The Masai Mara is well known for its spectacular black-maned Lion. Here you may undertake optional Balloon rides, or visit a Masai tribal village. Enjoy morning and afternoon game- viewing drive. Overnight at Sentrim Mara or similar. Full Board Day 6: ONWARD FLIGHTEarly morning game-viewing drive. Return to the lodge for breakfast. Proceed to Nairobi. Have lunch then transfer to the airport for your onward flight. In the event of a late evening flight, an optional day room can be reserved for you to relax and freshen up before you transfer to the airport.
